The Connecticut Mirror, Health Care Reporter, February 2019 to present

Covering access, equity, disparities and investigations in health care. Co-authored a four-part series on gaps in Connecticut’s elder care system that won two national awards and prompted sweeping reforms. Reported extensively on lapses in nursing home care. Co-authored an investigation on the aftermath of a cyberattack across three local hospitals. Wrote an exposé of religious health care sharing ministries that helped erase more than $300,000 of medical debt for a resident featured in the story. Covered the impact of the coronavirus on Connecticut’s people.

Covered government in the capital city with a focus on corruption, theft of taxpayer funds and ethical violations. Co-wrote two investigations on corruption in city deals that spurred federal indictments, one on the theft of taxpayer funds in a major soccer stadium project and another on an insurance broker who embezzled nearly $1 million from the city.
